  • Setting up and commissioning  radar equipment in the field
  • Organising logistics and communication with contact partners on site
  • Obtaining site permits
  • Releasing insects via drone
  • Preparing samples in the laboratory (sorting spiders and insects) 

This makes you unique

  • Biology, Environmental Sciences, Agronomy or similar degree begun or recently completed
  • A grounding in entomology (especially butterflies) an advantage
  • An enthusiasm for practical fieldwork; meticulous way of working; driver's licence
  • Committed, team-oriented and communicative personality
  • Knowledge of two official Swiss languages and a very good command of written and spoken English

Agroscope's HiRAD project investigates the use of radar technology to monitor flying insects by installing radar equipment in the field and collecting data. The INSECT project samples insects and spiders in agricultural areas. The job is split between the two projects.
